So, I have managed to survive a 33 hour trip on a train with two children. Let me start by saying that I love the train itself. The rocking is very soothing (most of the time) and the whole experience is really cool.
We left our house Friday morning at about 2:30, the train was supposed to leave at 4:30. We parked and immediately got stuck in a pile of mud-snow. The pants I was wearing for the whole trip got a good splash of mud and Jesse really worked his muscles jacking up the car and putting boards under the tires. Finally, I nice man with a snow plow pulled us out. It was now 5:30, but not to worry dear friends, the train was late and wasn't expected until about 7. What luck! Well, not lucky for the transient that got hit and caused the delay, but it worked out for our stuck car.
So we went and got breakfast and got on the train and got out of town at 7:30. The first day went well. The baby loved sleeping on the train and Henry took a good nap too. The highlight was trying to use a bathroom the size of a soda can while holding the baby at the same time. Peeing on a train is hard enough, then add in doing it all one handed and you're in for a rocking good time.
We were scheduled to arrive in Mt. Pleasant Iowa at noon on Saturday, but after the original delay we got caught up in freight traffic and got there at 5:30 in an ice storm. FUN!
I wish I could have put up the cute pictures of the boys on the train, but I didn't bring the cable to my brand new pink camera! I'll put them up as soon as I can.

Handsome
I can't believe I made such beautiful babies!

We went and got our pictures done at Target two weeks ago and it was a fiasco. I always get stressed so I was not my pleasant self (I still owe Jesse quite a few apologies). Henry goes crazy in front of a camera, so he was spaz-tastic as always. The baby wouldn't stop spitting up on his clothes. I was about ready to cry before we left. Then you get the pictures back and that all goes away. You get to see your two beautiful sons and show them off to the world. Jesse says we're never doing it again, but he's not in charge!

Life
Boy, do I need a camera! Yesterday Freddie turned 6 months old and I couldn't even take a picture. I did film him a little with the camcorder, but it's just not the same. I am taking both boys in for pictures on Friday, so those will have to count as his birthday pics.
So, Freddie at six months. He's a very sweet little boy. His favorite thing is to sit on his momma's lap and watch the world go by. Every few minutes he'll turn his head up to make sure I'm still there and then keep watching. He is still all floppy and wiggly, which I love. We really need to practice more tummy time and get his muscles working, but he just digs his face into the blanket and screams, so I don't really see the purpose of that. Maybe he just has me all wrapped up and knows how to get his way. I love to see his personality develop more each day.
Other than that there's not much going on at the Kremer house. Henry sold me one of his paintings today for $2. I think it was a bargain. If anybody is interested he would love to make you one too. He told me he was gong to sell eggs to the neighbors for $20 each to make some money. I think we're going to sign him up for finance seminars soon.
I'll post pictures as soon as I can!

Cousins
So today I let Henry ditch school and we went to McDonalds with Kate and Andrea. When in the crap did we get all these kids. 3 adults and 7 kids. Just last week we were in the car driving to Vegas without a care in the world. Now we are all parents and worry about who has pooped and where. Crazy. Here is a picture of the two older boys. Henry can get Andrew to do things he wouldn't usually do, like show his chest to the world. And yes, Henry is trying to pull his pants down to show the world some glory. That's my boy.

Where is everybody
So I am a total nerd. I come check out my blog everyday. For the sole purpose of seeing who has written on theirs recently. And you jerks are totally letting me down! Somebody, other than Kate who manages to be responsible with her blog, do something! Chop Chop!

This Week
So we've had an interesting week all in all. I started my new job at Wal-Mart on Thursday. Checking groceries is definitely not the worst job in the world I have to say. I do like to talk to people and you meet all kinds at your local Wal-Mart. I was going to take a picture of my badge and share my shame, but it's in the car and that is just way to far. The worst part so far was having to sit through all the pro Wal-Mart propaganda during training. yeah yeah, we know you're not building an empire and destroying capitalism, I get it.
Some of you may know that Henry had impitigo on his private parts. ACK! It freaked me out, but we went to the doctor, got some meds and all seemed fine. It was not fine. On Wednesday during his bath I noticed red and yellow dots starting from his noodle and going all the way down to his knee. FRICK! Jesse took him to the doctor and they said it was a staph infection. I was freaking out! I mean, is it going to fall off or something like that? But the doctor wasn't all that worried and gave him some stronger cream. By now they look a ton better and Henry's pretty tired of everybody looking at his business.
I have strep throat. Not cool at all. It seems like I get it about once every year or two. I had to call in sick on my third day of work. How embarassing! To look like a flakey employee at the Wal-Mart! Anyway, I went to the Insta Care today and the doctor's name was, crap you not, Dr. Pepper. Can you believe it! I almost died. I didn't say anything, cause I'm sure he's heard everything in the book. Do you know how hard it was not to start singing, "give me more...of the Dr. Pepper flavor I've been looking for"? It was not fair.
Anyway, the baby is doing pretty well. I think he might be a little sick. My biggest sign is that he has been up crying for the last 2 hours. After 1 hour of the cuddling and pampering I just have to stick him in his basket and say, "I love you, but you are in charge of your own happiness." It's very Zen of me, don't you think?
